E-learning is online learning which many students are doing right now as the schools are closed due to the pandemic. It is good that students can study at home safely but there are many problems that the students have to face during this time. Keeping this in view, here we are going to highlight 5 common problems faced by students that need to be addressed on a series note.
5 Common Problems Faced By Students In e-learning
1-Need for Mobile Devices
This is the most common problem faced by many students and parents at this time. During this pandemic, many students are having online classes but they may not have their own phone or laptop to study on and they might have to use their parent’s devices which will create a lot of problems for their parents if they have their businesses online. Some students might be sharing the same device with their siblings and if they both have online classes at the same time then they will have a lot of problems. Some parents have to buy another device for their children. Some parents have to pay more for a fast Internet connection. Some parents have lost their jobs in this pandemic and maybe they can’t pay for the devices or fast Internet. This is one of the major problems among the 5 common problems faced by students these days.
2-Adaptation
For some students, it is really hard to adapt to online sessions. Traditionally, you have to wake up early in the morning, wear your uniform, and then go to school, but nowadays whatever you are wearing you can attend class. They feel comfortable but their school routine is getting ruined. You don’t really understand the concept as the factor of the presence of the teacher is not there. Traditionally, you can raise your hand and ask your teacher easily and understand the concept but in online classes, it is not that simple. Some students come to school to also meet their friends but in online classes, you can’t really talk to them. You can talk to your friend on social media but the actual fun is when you meet them at school. Sometimes there is an Internet problem that will cause the student to be confused. In this regard, there’s a dire need to address the issue with extra consideration.
3- Affecting The Student’s Health
When you take online classes you have to stay in front of your device for a long time which can harm your eyes. It is not good for our health. Students have physical education in school but while in e-learning, they don’t have physical education which may lead to more electronic devices and less physical movement. This is another major problem among the 5 common problems faced by students these days.
4-Time Management
For taking classes at school, students get up early and then reach school on time, but now, they can join online sessions at any time. It means, they have time flexibility and they can study at their own pace, but the habit of coming to school early will be ruined. Simultaneously, it creates another problem which is a lack of concentration because the mind works well in the morning so that students can learn effectively. Another issue faced by students is the absence of a teacher. Normally, students have enough time to ask the teacher everything after school but now as the lesson ends, the teacher has to do other things so she leaves the students in doubt. The students who have doubts about the concept sometimes don’t have the time to ask the teacher because the time is finished or they get interrupted and have to ask their parents or have to search on Google which may lead them to get more confused than before.
5-Issue In Maintaining Focus
When the teacher is in front of you, you have to pay attention to her and no one can interest the students, but in e-learning, students can get easily distracted by their parents or siblings, or by getting a notification. It becomes harder for them to focus. This way, it creates the main issue of maintaining your focus on your studies. However, there are various issues faced by students these days, but here we highlighted some of them for proper consideration.
