I have been using these recipes for 4years and the result is so good, that my dermatologist asked for the secret behind my healthy and glowing skin. When I told her about my DIY skincare recipes she just loved them. I have an oily skin type, so these recipes are according to my skin type i.e oily skin type. I am not sure about these recipes will work on other skin types or not. So let’s start mine tried and tested DIY skincare recipes.

DIY Skincare Recipes for Healthy and Glowing Skin

1- Natural Cleanser

The daily routine starts with cleansing, the perfect cleanser will remove all dirt from the skin without leaving your skin completely dry and rough. These DIY skincare recipe ingredients are easily available at your home. So grab these natural ingredients and make our first recipe.

Recipe

Gram flour 1tbsp
Tumeric a pinch
Rosewater (or tap water) 1 tsp

Mix all ingredients and apply this paste to your face, leave it for a couple of minutes, scrub gently and rinse it off.

Gram flour not only absorbs excess oil and dirt but it exfoliates the skin.

2- Natural Exfoliator

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin by an exfoliator. Exfoliators can be physical, chemical, or natural granular substances. Dead skin sheds and new skin cells regenerate naturally in a month. If the removal of dead skin cells from your skin is not properly clean, it clogs your pores and causes acne and other skin-related issues. That’s why exfoliation is very important to remove dead skin cells from our skin. so here is our DIY skincare recipe for exfoliators.

Recipe

Cornmeal 2tbsp
Curd 2tbsp
Lemon juice 1tsp

Mix all ingredients and scrub gently for 5 minutes and then rinse off. Use it once a week.

3- Natural Toner

Harsh chemical toner only irritates your skin. Using this DIY natural toner will solve your problem.

Recipe

Rosewater 1cup
Glycerin ½tbsp
Lemon juice 1tbsp

Mix them all and store them in a bottle for easy use. Refrigerate and apply daily.
Lemon is an antioxidant, skin-lighting agent, and natural astringent, and also has disinfectant properties which prevent acne on your skin. Glycerin act as a humectant and also helps to get rid of bacterial infections.

4- Natural Essence

Essence is a water-based skincare product, it helps to restore hydration to skin cells.

Recipe 

Green tea bag 1sachet
Water 2tbsp

Dip 1 green tea bag of any flower tea in a very little amount of hot water, then cool it. Dip cotton in this green tea solution and apply it all over the face and neck.

5- Natural Moisturizer

Oily skin needs moisturizer too but it should be water-based and jelly-like, rich in humectants. Aloe vera is a natural humectant and is best for your skin.

Recipe 

Aloe Vera pulp 1tbsp
Vit e oil 1 drop

Mix both ingredients and apply them to your face.

6- Eye Oil

The under-eye skin is delicate and thin that’s why it darkens easily and quickly. For dark circles, this under-eye oil is a must-add to your daily skincare routine.

Recipe

Tea tree essential oil 2drops
Almond oil 2tbsp

Mix both essential and carrier oil, and massage around the eyes by using your fingers. Use daily at night and rinse off the next morning. Tea tree essential oil nourish and even out skin tone, and restores the natural oil of the skin under the eye. Almond oil reduces puffiness and tightens the skin. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It is rich in vitamin e which softens the skin.

7- Natural Lip Balm

Lip balm moistens your chapped lips. Store-bought lip balms don’t moisten and nourish your lips but dry out lips even more. So I did some research and made my DIY lip balm

Recipe

Beeswax 2tbsp
Coconut oil 2tbsp
Almond oil or vitamin oil 5 drops
Any essential oil 2drops

Heat beeswax and coconut oil by double boiler method, when beeswax melts and incorporates with coconut oil nicely, remove from the double boiler and let it cool slightly. now add almond oil/vitamin e oil and any of your chosen essential oil. Mix well and pour into the container.

In this recipe, you can use any of your favorite essential oil. Rose marry essential oil, lavender essential oil, orange essential oil, and peppermint essential oil are best for lips. This die lip balm not only softens and nourishes your lips but lightens the dark lips too. Coconut oil acts as an antioxidant that makes your lips shiny and healthy.
