2019 was a long and difficult year. In the beginning, I was hopeful that everything would fall into place. It would be right and perfect. However, expectations shatter. At the end of the year, I realized that I had learned important lessons. I would carry them forever. Here are some of the best lessons I learned in 2019:

1- Individuals cannot give up something they love. They still love it. However, they know it is not good for them.

2- They cannot ask for forgiveness for the same reasons.

3- People can forgive others. However, they do not want them back in their lives.

4- It is not their job to fix others.

5- Life is a roller coaster ride. It has ups and downs. Life is unpredictable and full of surprises.

6- Certain individuals deeply and truly care about one another. However, one thinks that one does not have anyone. That is to say, such people are thinking about the wrong individuals.

7- If people find someone who they connect with deeply, then they should keep them. When individuals find people they want to keep around, then they should do something about it.

8- However, if they feel that it is one-sided, then they should walk away. Putting efforts to keep the flame burning will hurt them only.

9- Individuals should not worry about the future. They should let the universe work its magic. They should let things flow naturally. Everything falls into place eventually.

10- Life takes people to different places. However, if Allah has created things, then they come to them.

11- Traumas are not an individual’s fault. However, healing is their responsibility.

12- The world gives people pain. However, they should not hurt anyone back. This is among the lessons I learned in 2019.

13- Individuals do not grow. Things will not change. People have to make efforts to change things themselves.

14- Individuals should not allow others to treat them poorly just because they love them.

15- People should have enough courage and respect in them. They should walk away from those who neglect them continuously or stay absent.

16- Individuals should not settle for less. There are people out there they have not met yet. They will love them.

17- Nothing remains the same in a year.

18- People never know what lies in the future. Therefore, they should live a life they will remember.

19- If individuals do not experience heartbreak, failures, and other difficulties, then they would not have become the person they are today. Therefore, life brings grief and pain. They are unimaginable and unbearable. However, they help people to grow into what Allah destined them to become. Changes are small or big. However, individuals put effort into improving themselves and healing. These efforts are the only things that matter.

20- The end of a friendship is not a failure. It is the best thing for both individuals. All relationships are changeable and fluid. Connections are not always permanent. Not being friends with someone anymore is not a bad thing. People should accept it too. Things are totally out of control at times. There is nothing people can do to change it.

21- Toxic environments ruin a person’s mental health. They affect relationships at home too. Therefore, it is better to leave such jobs. Individuals should take a step back.

2019 was a hell of a ride. However, it helped to get on their next journey. 2020 has love, peace, and joy. They were waiting for them. These are some of the best lessons I learned in 2019.
